First Post

Myeah, Dont really know how to start out my first post so ill just go with that. My name is nick harris and I am a 21 year old finance major that is currently attending the University of memphis. This is going to document my poker life and the swings involved in playing poker for a living. For those that dont know Ill give you a little history on my game:

I started playing in highschool at .25/.50 games that ran just about everynight, there was only one other kid there that had any idea what he was doing. This is when I first realized that maybe playing cards for a living was possible.

Anyways, college came around and I dicked around online sites playing heads up - built up a 2000 dollar roll and then blew it on a tv. I take that back I didnt blow it, I invested in a 50" sony wega lcd that is now my computer monitor. It is pretty badass for multitabling.

Then I met this girl, fell in love, and basically gave up on cards. I was basically ready to walk the straight and narrow as she had cystic fibrosis and poker wasent going to be job that could get her insurance. Anyways long story short after two years we break up and I dive back into cards headfirst. I live in memphis and Tunica is just thirty minutes away. Lets just say that a straight flush is a great way to mend a broken heart.

So I continued to play more and more and began to hate my job as a mail sorter/typist more and more as well. I had been running extremely well in Tunica and decided one weekend that if i did well I would quit my job and focus on playing cards. I won 1100 that weekend which is about what two months at work would have paid. So for lack of a better description I have been a professional card player since april.

Recently after the bankroll took a monster dive I decided that playing 1-3nl in tunica wasent the smartest thing to do. I had about 2000 left and realized that I was extremly underbankrolled for 1-3 and decided that I better invest my poker money elsewhere. So i bought into cardrunners and recently began learning shorthanded play. I put 300 on fulltilt and had that up to a grand in 2 weeks 6-8 tabling the .10/.25 game. I moved up to .25/.50 and have been on a huge heater. im up almost 600 in 5,500 hands.

anyways theres the first post... going to immediately post another above containing august goals
